Description: |
Overview: Shared risk and protective factors (SRPFs) – conditions and characteristics that have been linked to multiple health and quality-of-life outcomes – have long been explored by public health professionals. However, efforts to translate this collective knowledge into practical and upstream interventions or “SRPF approaches” have proven complex and challenging for public health practitioners and their many multi-sector partners.
In response, Safe States – in partnership with our members and collaborators – has worked over the last two years to develop the Connections Lab, a new suite of resources that includes:
-The first formal definition of a “SRPF approach.” -A conceptual model that visualizes how and where SRPF approaches operate. -Strategies for how to evaluate and engage partners in SRPF approaches. -Examples of SRPF approaches being implemented in several states. -Tools & resources for advancing your SRPF efforts and a glossary of related terms.
