Description: |
Overview:For decades, injury prevention professionals have categorized prevention strategies into what has often been called the “E’s of Prevention,” with “enforcement” being a key component of those strategies. However, heightened news coverage of high-profile deaths of Black people from excessive use of police force have highlighted disparate policing and traffic stops as a public health issue. As a result, many cities are re-imagining the role of law enforcement, what behaviors should merit a traffic stop, and investing in more upstream equitable infrastructure to create safer and more just systems. Change is hard and often met with resistance. Join us on March 3 for a discussion on how to actively engage with law enforcement to collaborate on transformative change. Presenters:Join us for a panel discussion featuring presenters from the Safe States Annual Conference 2021 session where it began.
